BRIEF
KSS Sales (aka Kennett Square Specialties) has a strong family farm/grower heritage and is owned by the Caputo and Guest families. They were looking to introduce a line of branded exotic mushrooms to expand beyond their more mainstream varieties. Use of the Kennett Square name is owned by the town in Pennsylvania, so a new brand name needed to be created.
SOLUTION
Consumer research validated our naming and design vision, resulting in an upscale, restaurant-quality appeal. Aspirational photography elevated the program while providing usage guidance for consumers, both on-pack and online. The linear “tree bark” pattern and deep blue-black tones unite packaging, trade show graphics and other launch materials, and stand out from the competitive set.
IMPACT
The brand is in its infancy and is gaining distribution. Our branding, packaging and support materials have provided a professional impression which has been well received during sell-in.
